Q. Why Sportsman 250 intermediate?
A. This is the only vintage class that has so many manufacturers represented

Q. Will the standard points for CALVMX and AHRMA still be scored for end of year champions?
A. Yes, although this is a separate event it will still be scored for traditional AHRMA points as well as CALVMX points.

Q.  Will this be a separate moto?
A.  Yes this will be the new race 5 see the race order posted on website

Q. Can I race Sportsman 250 intermediate without being in the manufacturers series?
A. Yes, but we do encourage everyone in the class to enter the series as well.

Q. How do I signup?
A.  Email frank@calvmx.net  with your name and motorcycle you will be racing

Q. Can a Classic 1 or 2  250 cc motorcycle race as a vintage sportsman 250?
A. Yes, any year previous to 1975 and the specific 1975 models permitted can race.

Q.  How will you score a race if there are multiple riders racing for the same manufacturer?
A  Vintage sportsman points will be awarded in the order each bike finished each moto, however only mx bikes
competing in the manufacturers cup will be scored for cup points.

The highest placing rider for each team will be awarded the points.  Only points for one rider per moto will represent
the manufacturer for each specific event. If the same manufacturer bike wins 1st and second in a moto then only the
first place points goes to that manufacturer and 3rd place points goes to the other manufacturer

Example   CZ wins two motos and comes in second place both times. Maico gets third place in both motos.   Points will
be given as follows   CZ 20 + 20 = 40   Maico  16 + 16 =32   No second place points given. Each rider however is also
competing in the sportsman 250 points battle and their points will go towards that total no matter what position they
finish in..

Each series has a 6 race schedule    ~     only best 5 races will count. In the event there is a tie then the highest point
total for race 6 will be the tie-breaker

In order to become part of a Team, riders must commit to at least 4 of the 6 races in the series.

Basic Rules:

Hand-on-Helmet starts

Your Motorcycle must be a pre 1975 motorcycle except for those 1975 models permitted by AHRMA and the 1975 Honda Elsinore
which CALVMX considers a vintage sportsman. If you are not sure your 1975 year bike qualifies please contact us by email.

CALVMX may choose to include other 1975 models unless they pose a clear design and performance advantage over the 1974 and
older models.

All riders must wear gear of the same ERA. This gear is available from many sources. If doesn’t have to be original gear but it must
look like original gear. If you are not sure where you can locate some please contact CALVMX for assistance
Exclusions will be made for helmets, boots, chest protectors, goggles and gloves. Basically your jersey and pants should be of the
ERA.

Each manufacturer will have a team. The team may be made up of 1 or more members.

The winning team will share the manufacturer’s cup throughout the year.
For example if there are 2 team members each one will have the cup for 6 months and so on.

At the end of the year the team with the most points will win the manufacturers cup and their names will be engraved
in the cup and the year in which they won.

No later year modifications except those permitted by AHRMA will be permitted on each motorcycle. Any team can request an
inspection of any other team’s motorcycle at any time to confirm the legitimacy of the motorcycle.
